Norway's Telenor Group, which provides telecom services in Myanmar, issues a statement on the government order.
"All mobile operators, international gateways and internet service providers in Myanmar received a directive on 5 February 2021 from the Myanmar Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) to, until further notice, block the social media platforms Twitter and Instagram. This comes in addition to the current temporary block of Facebooks," the Telco has stated.
It is the latest move by the military to stifle dissent following the military coup on Monday.

Meanwhile, a civil disobedience movement in Myanmar is gaining momentum with teachers and students protesting against the military coup.
