Royal College’s P.A. Abeyratne wants to participate as the representative of the School Cricket Association, while Sarathchandra de Silva of Kalutara Vidyalaya is to play the role of an observer.
De Silva is due to retire next month, and if he is able to go to Australia, he will retire during the tour.
He is the current chairman of School Cricket Association, and Abeyratne is eyeing the position after his retirement.
The Sri Lanka Cricket has agreed to meet all their expenses for the Australia tour.
Coaches of school cricket teams are disappointed by the conduct of the two principals.
De Silva previously participated in the U-19 team’s tour of England as the representative of the School Cricket Association.
Also vice president of the School Rugby Association, he joined officials of the association in a trip to Malaysia recently.
He has also obtained permission to tour Malaysia with the under-15 school cricket team.
According to reports reaching Sri Lanka Mirror, no two school representatives had previously taken part in a foreign tour by a school cricket team.
