Mathews’s latest decision Featured

Former Sri Lanka Cricket Captain Angelo Mathews has said that he would contribute to the team at the World Cup Twenty20 Championships scheduled to be held in Australia in September.

Mathews who was omitted from the Sri Lankan squad in their Twenty20 encounter with New Zealand had informed SLC of his intention to bowl.

Mathews had served as an all-rounder for some time but due to a foot issue, he gave up bowling.

He has participated in 72 Twenty20 internationals and has scored 1055 runs including five half centuries.

According to cricket selectors, when selecting players for a Twenty20 team, players are considered for their ability to score runs fast, running between the wickets, speed of bowling and fielding which are decisive factors in addition to batting abilities.
