First foreign cricket team to visit SL after Easter bombings Featured

Bangladesh announced yesterday (09) that the team would visit Sri Lanka for a three ODI series.

The Bangladesh Cricket Institution officially announced yesterday that security during the tour had been established.

The Bangladesh Cricket Team is the first foreign team to visit Sri Lanka since the Easter Sunday attacks.

The BCB Chief Executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury said having received a positive response from the security advisors regarding the security measures during the tour, the decision had been taken to proceed with the tour.
Accordingly, the Bangladesh team is scheduled to arrive in the country on July 23rd. They would engage in three ODIs against the Sri Lankan team on July 26, 28 and 31st.

All three matches are scheduled to be held at the R. Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Cricket had earlier announced that New Zealand was scheduled to visit Sri Lanka for two tests and three Twenty20 matches in August.
