SL Cricket too fines Dimuth

Sri Lanka Test Cricket Captain Dimuth Karunaratne has been ordered to pay US $ 7500 fine by the Sri Lanka Cricket.

The cricket authorities say that the fine has been imposed on the player for breaching the contract by engaging in drunk driving and causing a road accident.

The jeep that was plying in Kinsey Horton area in Borella recently had collided with a three-wheeler and the driver of the three-wheeler who received grave injuries had been admitted to the National Hospital.

Later, the police arrested the Sri Lankan cricket captain and released on bail.

When the case was taken up before the Colombo Additional Magistrate Channa Saliya Abeyratne it was ordered to suspend the driving license of Dimuth and ordered to send him to the National Transport Medical Institute in Nugegoda and obtain a report.
