Hathurusinghe to be recalled! Featured

The Chief Coach of the Sri Lankan cricket team Chandika Hathurusinghe will be recalled to Sri Lanka after the last ODI between Sri Lanka and South Africa in Cape Town on March 16, according to cricket internal sources.

Therefore, the Sri Lanka team fielding coach Steve Rickson would take over as coach for the three Twenty20 matches between South Africa and Sri Lanka.

Rickson had previously been the Assistant Coach for Australia and the Chief Coach for the New Zealand team.

It is believed that the continuous defeats during the South Africa tour is the reason for Hathurusinghe’s recall.

It is reported that Sri Lanka Cricket spends around Rs. 7.5 million on Hathurusinghe, including all allowances.

He is the world’s third highest paid coach only behind England Coach Trevor Baileys and Indian Coach Ravi Shastri.
