Injured soldiers display artistic talents (Pics)

An art and handicraft exhibition with the participation of around 50 soldiers disabled during the war, organised by the Army Rehabilitation Directorate will be held on November 01 and 02 at the J.A.D. Perera auditorium Colombo 7.

This would be the first time that these creative paintings and works of art of the war injured soldiers, who were rendered blind or disabled, is being displayed for public viewing. These soldiers are residents of the numerous rehabilitation facilities throughout the country.

This exhibition held with the blessings of the Army Commander under the supervision of Army Executive Director Major General Shavendra Silva and Director Rehabilitation Brigadier Shantha Thirunavukarusu, with the coordination of the Wattala Ranaviru Sampath centre.

Clay, bamboo, palmyrah, flowers, paper, plant material, seeds and cane have been used in these artistic creations. The exhibition will be held on both days from 09.00 AM to 10.00 PM.
