The mountainous city of Yan'an in Shaanxi province, dubbed as the Chinese Revolution Museum City, is one of the most profound cities in China's national history of communism.
Yan'an was near the endpoint of the Long March, and became the center of the Chinese Communist revolution from late 1935 to early 1947. Chinese communists celebrate Yan'an as the birthplace of the revolution.
Being home to over 350 sites related to the revolution, Yan'an is now a hub falling into the category of "Red tourism", which focus on sites related to the revolution.
According a report published in Xinhua, citing statistics from the city's tourism development committee, Yan'an had received a total of 50.59 million tourists in 2017, with the tourism revenue totaling 29.87 billion yuan.
The following are several scenes at the Zaoyuan revolutionary site, a garden-like revolutionary memorial site, listed in the National Red Tourism Classic Scenic Spot list. It is also the seat of the secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. It was used in this function from October 1943 until March 1947.
