Wijedasa to announce future plans in due course

Wijedasa Rajapakshe bade farewell to staffs of the justice and Buddha Sasana ministries this afternoon (23) following his removal as the minister for the two subjects.

He also returned the vehicles and other possessions to the ministries.

Rajapakshe told journalists that he did not resign, but was removed from his portfolios.

He cited two reasons for his removal - his opposition to the leasing out of the Hambantota port and the Mattala airport, and having made the Attorney General’s Department independent to punish the fraudsters as revealed at the bond commission.

He said he would announce his future plans in due course so that the public could take a decision regarding him.
