Candidate injures voter’s face (Pics)

A candidate of the Illankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) had assaulted a voter of the opposition party this afternoon in the Puthukudiiruppu area in Mulaithivu, according to the Puthukudiiruppu Police.

The Puthukudiiruppu Police said the victim had been assaulted by the ITAK candidate while he was on his way to cast his vote.

Police investigations are currently underway to arrest the candidate who assaulted the voter.

The injured person had sustained injuries to his face and was admitted to the Puthukudiiruppu hospital.
