China refutes ‘New York Times’ exposure Featured

The Chinese government has refuted an exposure in ‘New York Times.’

Ada Derana quoted the Head of political affairs of the Chinese embassy in Colombo as saying the newspaper report that Mahinda Rajapaksa was given money was baseless.

The content of the report is biased and incorrect, he said.

He added that a diplomatic level explanation was not required as the report was based on a commercial activity of a private company.

Meanwhile, Dambara Amila Thera of Citizens’ Power told the media today that a presidential commission should be appointed to inquire into the ‘New York Times’ report.
