JVP Provincial Councilor Wasantha Samarasinge earlier disclosed that Perpetual Treasuries had distributed Rs. 1190 million through around 166 such cheques issued through a Seylan Bank account of Mendis Company.
When Ravaya newspaper had contacted him in this regard, he had said that these cheques had been signed by Arjun Aloysius and his father Geoffrey Aloysius.
Reasons for the stalling of investigations!
The Ravaya newspaper reported that the investigations regarding the bond scam had hit a glitch and was delayed due to the son of a powerful UNP female politician being overseas and a security officer and driver who had cashed the cheques also being out of the country.
