Blood donation campaign at President's House (Pics)

A blood donation campaign was held yesterday (05) at the President's House in Fort.
According to the Presidential secretariat, the event was a brainchild of president's son - Daham Sirisena, and this was the first time in history a blood donation campaign was held at the President's House in Fort.
President Maithripala Sirisena visited the camp and exchanged pleasantries with the medical staff.
It is estimated that around 450,000 pints of blood are required in Sri Lanka each year.
Regardless of the numerous blood campaigns held, the National Blood Centre states that shortages occur in the first few months of the year and that the demand increases each year.
