The SLFP’s 16 member group that opposed prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at the no-confidence motion has made plans to take the party into their hands.
They will propose the implementation of a programme to strengthen the party after leaving their positions.
The meeting will decide the party’s role in the present government as well.
The group of 16 says they will never leave the SLFP, but will strengthen the president and take the party closer to the people.
