A verdict that restored public trust!

The Campaign for Free and Fair Elections (CaFFE) commended all parties that were involved in restoring the public’s faith in the judiciary.

Issuing a statement the Executive Director of CaFFE Rajith Keerthi Tennakoon said:
“Thank you for having fought against the 'Sil Redi' abuse!

A heartfelt thank you to the Elections Department, Election Monitors PFFERAL, CMEV and TI, Ravi Widyalanankara, Thusith Mudalige (Anti-corruption Secretariat) and Wasantha Samarasinghe of the JVP and others for continuously pushing for justice on the Sil Redi distribution issue that took place during the 2015 presidential election period.

I would also like to commend Judge Gihan Kulatgunga for restoring the faith people had in the judiciary.

This judgment on the distribution of Sil Redi is a strong message to corrupt public servants, who carry out and cover up massive corruption.”
