Court order on original valuation report for Yoshitha’s property Featured

Mt. Lavinia magistrate Mohamed Mihal yesterday (31) took up the case against Yoshitha Kanishka Rajapaksa and his grandmother Daisy Forrest in which they stand accused of having laundered black money by buying a land at 173/2, Mihindu Mawatha, Dehiwela and building a house there.

According to the case filed by the FCID, the land was bought to Forrest’s name for Rs. 521 million of ill-gotten money by Yoshitha.

The magistrate ordered the FCID to inform on August 21 if it needed the originals of the valuation reports of the property in question, after police told courts that the reports were yet to be received.

However, lawyers for the defendants maintained the reports had been handed over.

Following summons, Yoshitha was present at the hearing.
