He told Sri Lanka Mirror that central province governor Niluka Ekanayake and chief minister Sarath Ekanayake have both forced the school’s principal Shantha Kumara to give the playground to park buses.
After the principal vehemently opposed the suggestion, he was summoned by the governor and the CM to their offices on May 31 and June 26 respectively.
As principal Kumara persisted with his stand, Ekanayake went to the school yesterday (04) and threatened him with a transfer.
However, the provincial education director and secretary are both not supporting the school to ensure students’ right to education, but appear only to safeguard their positions.
Stalin said the president has been informed in writing about the incident and requested to give a quick solution.
