Students below grade five not permitted in public gallery

Students below grade five have been banned from entering the public viewing gallery in parliament during sittings.

This decision has been taken to prevent disturbance during parliamentary sittings and as children below grade five have no understanding of parliamentary proceedings.

However, the parliamentary Secretariat stated that students below grade five could visit the parliamentary viewing gallery when sittings are not in progress.
