Talks on free trade pacts to conclude Featured

Talks on free trade agreements with India, China and Singapore will conclude by the end of this year, development strategy and international trade minister Malik Samarawickrama has informed the cabinet.

The subcommittee on economic management has appointed a nine member committee for the task.

They have held six rounds of talks with China on a bilateral free trade pact initiated in 2014 and four rounds of talks with Singapore on their agreement on free trade.

The ETCA with India will be expanded to become a comprehensive trade and economic partnership.
