PM’s social media head influences police? Featured

Maharagama police are avoiding holding an inquiry into a complaint it has received that the social media head of prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has threatened committee member of the professional web journalists association Vimukthi Dushantha, reports say.

Dushantha had originally tried to complain against Thushara D. Wanniarachchi to Colombo Fort police, but it has refused to record the complaint.

Sri Lanka Mirror has received all details of the clash Wanniarachchi had at Waters’ Edge at Battaramulla which Thushara, also a Lake House journalist, was going to expose.

It was with the media secretary of minister Rauff Hakeem that the PM’s social media head had clashed, over his not having invited him to his wedding.

Also the two had a heated argument over a money matter and Wanniarachchi had got hold of a plate to hit Hakeem’s media secretary on the head.

Chamila Anuradhapura who was nearby, prevented the hit, but got his hand injured in the process.

Hakeem’s media secretary had then kicked Wanniarachchi in the groin and he collapsed to the floor.

At the time, Wanniarachchi had already consumed three glasses of wine, SLM learns.
