Ravi says will protect PM over CB bond sale

Newly-appointed foreign minister Ravi Karunanayake claims he has nothing to do with the controversial Central Bank bond sale.

He has told ‘Lankadeepa’ that he had a responsibility to protect his party leader, prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, even if he has to suffer for it.

Karunanayake said everything would be revealed before the commission investigating the bond sale.

He went onto charge that the incumbent governor of the CB had been in the Rajapaksa camp once and had cohabited with Ajith Nivard Cabraal.

The government might have changed, but the officialdom has not changed, he said.
