He described it as a clear attempt of political revenge to harm Rajapaksa’s life.
Alahapperuma said this was also a violation of a promise given by law and order minister Sagala Ratnayake that any such security changes would be done after a proper evaluation only.
Ratnayake has told parliament the ex-president was having 187 policemen as his bodyguards.
Thereafter, former president Chandrika Kumaratunga issued a statement, questioning as to why Rajapaksa needed a higher level of security than her.
