Acute petrol shortage? Featured

Although the distribution of fuel has resumed from today (16), there is a risk of a severe shortage of petrol due to the unavailability of stocks until the government purchases another shipment of petrol, according to internal sources of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.

It is said that the main reason for this acute shortage of petrol is the inability to release the 37,000 metric tons of petrol shipment anchored in the port over the past few days.

Similarly, although there was an acute shortage of diesel too, with the payment being made for the 40,000 metric tons of diesel yesterday (15), measures were taken to unload the diesel consignment by late last night.

Accordingly, arrangements have been made to distribute diesel from the Kolonnawa and Muthurajawela oil storage terminals from today.
