The incident took place in front of the house of Rathgama Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman - T. Nimal.  The house was also set on fire.

The injured were initially taken to the Rathgama Divisional hospital before being transferred to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital and Poonangoda Hospital for further treatment. It is reported they are not in a critical situation.

One killed in police fire at Mulleriyawa

Meanwhile, one person had been killed as police fired to disperse crowds that had attemped to set fire to the Mulleriyawa OIC's jeep at the Angoda junction earlier this evening (10).
