CPC strike called off!

Minister of Petroleum -  Chandima Weerakkody has announced that the strike by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation trade union collective has been called off.

The TU action was called off following a written assurance given by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe that any agreement in this regard would not be signed during his Indian visit.

The announcement came following a discussion between trade unions representatives and the Prime Minister at Temple Trees yesterday (24).

Speaking to media afterwards, TU representatives have assured that fuel supplies will be normalised soon today.
