The election of the new office bearers will be held at the party's Executive Committee which is to be held under the patronage of party's incumbent president Maithripala Sirisena at the party head office.
Political sources say Sirisena will be re-elected as the leader of SLFP for another term.
Sirisena had informed that he would annouce his stance on the report of Commission that probed the Easter bombings today(25).
He has made this announcement at the party's Central Committee meeting held yesterday(24)Meanwhile, in the latest political development, the SLFP central committee has unanimously decided that the party would stand for Sirisena if any legal action is taken against the ex-president on the basis of the recommendations of the commission report.
The proposal in this regard has been submitted to the committee by Prof. Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa.
