NMRA approves emergency use of Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine

The National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) has approved the emergency use of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine for COVID-19 in Sri Lanka, State Minister Prof. Channa Jayasumana has said.

Speaking to media today (22), the State Minister said the vaccine will reach Sri Lanka soon.

He noted that this is the first time the NMRA has approved a Covid-19 vaccine.

Also, applications have been received with respect to other Covid-19 vaccines for approval, he further said.
