The incident had taken place yesterday (26) in Mattakkuliya.

It is said that the two persons in the van were under the influence of alcohol at the time of arrest.

However, 'Derana' states that the arrested persons are not employees of the media station and the van was merely a vehicle hired by them.

It adds that the van and the persons were not on an official duty when it was seized by the police.
