Escaped Covid-19 patient captured

A Covid-19 patient who had escaped from the Welikanda Treatment Centre last night (24), had been captured in the Welikanda town within half an hour, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.

He said the escapee was identified as a 28 year-old drug addict from Rajanganaya.

DIG Rohana said 05 incidents of Covid-19 patients escaping treatment facilities have been reported from October 04 - Nov. 25 and all of them are 'either persons addicted to drugs or connected to drugs.'
