Ranil urged to enter Parliament, talks at Sirikotha today Featured

Several factions have requested Leader of the United National Party Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to enter Parliament through the National List.

UNP members and several civil society groups have made the request considering Former Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe’s knowledge and expertise on standing orders and other Parliamentary affairs.

Accordingly, a special discussion will be held at UNP headquarters Sirikotha today to finalise the national list post.

Deputy Leader of the United National Party Ruwan Wijewardene said party seniors are determine to finalise the appointment and build a strong support base from grassroots levels.

The UNP obtained 249,435 votes at the 2020 General Election and secured a National List seat in Parliament.
