Colombo weddings canceled due to COVID-19

Chief Medical Officer of the Colombo Municipal Council Ruwan Wijayamuni says that about 100 weddings and parties organized in the city of Colombo have been canceled following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He said that all the banquets and weddings that had been canceled were to be held at leading star class hotels in Colombo.

He added that if an essential wedding is to be held, about 50 people are allowed to attend, all of which must be done in accordance with quarantine rules.

Dr. Wijayamuni further stated that the first level contacts of COVID-19 patients found in the Colombo city limits have been referred to hospitals.
