Radhakrishnan's son clarifies wedding rumours Featured

Former Minister of State for Education Velusamy Radhakrishnan's son - Thivaharan Radhakrishnan has denied social media reports citing that his wedding was held at a leading hotel in Colombo while curfew has been imposed on the entire Western Province.

On a Facebook post, he had stated "Guys when you plan my wedding please let me know earlier it will be easy for me to get ready and come."

"With that be little social responsibility when you using someone’s name on social media for what not happened," he added.

However, 'Sri Lanka Mirror' learns that the event in question was actually the wedding of a son of a business tycoon in Kotahena.

However, the police had reportedly interfered and put a stop to the event held at a leading hotel in Kollupitiya.

Police media spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana had said that only 35 guests have attended the wedding and that an investigation would be held over the incident.

Earlier in the week, the government announced that all gatherings including weddings in the Western Province have been banned. Curfew was imposed in the province from yesterday (29).

Social media has been abuzz with the question as to whom had given permission to hold a wedding in this backdrop.
