Chandrika is complicating matters: Maithri Featured

President Maithripala Sirisena has accused former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaranatunge of disrupting certain political projects being implemented by him, according to reliable political sources.

The President had made these comments to a group of SLFP Ministers when they had come to meet him to voice their protest over a weekend workshop organised for SLFP Ministers and MP’s by the party Advisor Chandrika Bandaranaike, the source further added.

It is also reported that Ministers Susil Premajayantha and Faiszer Musthapha had  criticized Bandaranaike’s mediation in matters pertaining to the new Constitution and foreign affairs.

It was Chandrika Bandaranaike who proposed Sirisena as the common candidate at the last Presidential election and convinced UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe.
