Committee to probe power outage

The CEB says the Power Minister Dullas Alahapperuma will appoint a committee to probe the power outage to ensure such a situation does not repeat. Restoration of the power supply to take more time as each power plant has to be manually reactivated.

Water supply to several areas were also disrupted due to the power failure. Restoring water supply to take 03 - 05 hours after electricity is restored, the Water Board has said.

Meanwhile, heavy traffic is also reported from around Colombo after traffic lights had stopped functioning due to the power failure.
