On information provided by the Kelaniya Crimes Investigation Division, the Kiribathgoda Police had arrested two suspects who were absconding.

The chief suspect was arrested in Pannipitiya following information received when interrogating the above two suspects. 

Three knives and a three-wheeler that were used in carrying out the murder were seized from Peliyagoda.

The suspects, aged 28, 29 and 32, are residents of Wattala.

1377 arrested in WP

Meanwhile, police have arrested 1377 suspects for the possession of drugs during a special operation conducted in the Western Province.

The operation was conducted from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday (July 18), based on instructions of Western Province Senior DIG, Deshabandu Tennakoon.

“771 suspects had warrants against them and 792 were arrested during raids in corrupt activities,” Police said today (19).
