Don't fall for rumours - Anil Jasinghe Featured

Director General of Health Services - Dr. Anil Jasinghe has urged the public not to fall for rumours spread on the Covid-19 epidemic.
He further said that it was the responsibility of the public to adhere to health regulations.
There is no spread as such. However, the public has a responsibility to adhere to health regulations. Covid-19 is something that spreads in a manner that where one cluster appears when another ceases to exist. With the identification of a case from Welikada, Covid-19 was spotted in Kandakadu, Dr. Jasinghe has said.

"A new wave could be triggered from the drug addicts brought to Kandakadu from Suduwella. Proper measures are needed to control such clusters. Sometimes PCR test results could be negative at first and a re-test could result as positive. Therefore the best super weapon is 'quarantine'. Health workers, tri forces and the police are taking every possible measure to prevent a disaster. It cannot be stated yet that the Covid-19 threat has passed.  Adhering to health regulations, quarantining and controlling clusters must be done. For this, everyone needs to cooperate," Dr. Jasinghe adds.
