SL sees new daily high with 150 Covid-19 patients (Update)

Sri Lanka witnessed the the highest single-day rise of Covid-19 cases yesterday (27) after the discovery of 150 cases.

According to the Epidemiology Unit, 97 of these cases are  returnees from overseas while the remaining 53 cases are Navy personnel in quarantine centres.

Accordingly, the total number of confirmed infections reported from the island so far has surged to 1,469.

The previous highest single-day rise of Covid-19 cases were reported the day before (May 26) with 137 cases reported.

According to the situation report of the Epidemiology Unit issued at 11.55pm yesterday (May 27), there are 727 patients under medical care, 732 recoveries and 10 fatalities at the moment.

Covid-19 : 134 new cases today

134 persons have been tested positive for Covid-19 so far today, the Epidemiology Unit says.

53 are Navy personnel in quarantine while the remaining 81 are returnees from overseas, the Epidemiology Unit adds.

Accordingly, the total number of persons tested positive for Covid-19 in Sri Lanka so far has increased to 1,453.

According to the situation report of the Epidemiology Unit issued at 8.30pm today (May 27), there are 711 patients under medical care, 732 recoveries and 10 fatalities at the moment.
