According to the situation report of the Epidemiology Unit issued at 6.30pm on April 30, there are 507 patients under medical care and 07 fatalities at the moment.
According to the Information Department, the latest 04 cases reported are residents of the Suduwella area, who have been under quarantine at the Oluvil quarantine centre.
Speaking to media today (30), DIG Ajith Rohana said that the total number of Covid-19 cases had emerged from 31 clusters.
He said that according to information gathered by the State Intelligence Service, 27 out of these 31 clusters are now inactive.
Out of the remaining 04 clusters, 03 are gradually moving towards an inactive status, he added.
He further said the situation which was detected from Suduwella in Ja-Ela spread to Nagalagama Street through the drug addicts and then it spread to Keselwatte and Gunashinhapura.
He said this resulted in the creation of Covid-19 clusters in those respective areas.
The total number of persons tested positive for Covid-19 in Sri Lanka has increased to 653, health authorities say.
