Airport scanners can't identify Covid-19 patients

The Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) says that there is no possibility of detecting the presence of Covid-19 coronavirus in an human through scanners installed at Bandaranaike International Airport, in Katunayake.

Speaking to 'Sri Lanka Mirror', GMOA spokesman - Dr. Samantha Ananda said that these scanners can only detect fever.

The scanners had not identified any suspected Covid-19 cases among those who arrived at Sri Lanka in the last two months.
Therefore, the GMOA is of the opinion that use of the scanners is ineffective.

Further speaking, Dr. Ananda said that the best medicine to curb Covid-19 is our traditional Ayurvedic medicine practices and no Western medicine has been discovered so far.
