Youth abductions case involving Ravindra postponed Featured

The case filed against Admiral Ravindra Wijegunawardena over harbouring a suspect alleged of abducting 11 young males  was postponed until October 9.  
The travel ban imposed on Lieutenant Commander G. Laksiri, a key witness in a the case, was also temporarily lifted by the court today (Jul 17).

The order was issued by Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake when the case was taken up for hearing this morning.

Lt. Cdr. Laksiri, has been primarily accused of involvement in the alleged abduction and enforced disappearances of 11 youths from Colombo and its whereabouts in 2009.

Wijegunawardena, the President’s Chief-of-Staff, has been accused of harbouring former Lt. Cdr. Chandana Prasad Hettiarachchi alias 'Navy Sampath', who is also a suspect in the case.
