This is the last lunar eclipse that could be viewed this year, while the next eclipse could only be viewed on May 26th, 2021, said the Professor Chandana Jayaratne, Director of the Astronomy and Space Science Unit of the Colombo University
The eclipse will begin at 12.13 am and end at 5:47am Sri Lanka standard time.
Sri Lanka will witness a partial lunar eclipse on the 16th of this month. This lunar eclipse will also be experienced by countries in the Australian, African, North American, European and Asian continents.
