President instructs Amaradeva Asapuwa to be vested with the people Featured

President Maithripala Sirisena has issued instructions to vest the Dr. Pandith Amaradeva Sangeetha Asapuwa with the people by August 31st. 

The President engaged in an inspection tour yesterday and had issued these instructions to the officials during his visit last afternoon. 
The construction of this facility commenced on August 28, 2017 based on a request made by Pandith Amaradeva and a promise made by the President at his funeral. 

A 120 perch land was awarded for the construction, while Rs. 200 million was allocated for the construction of the facility. The Amaradeva Sangeetha Asapuwa will comprise of a library, record room, museum, conference hall and studio. It will also comprise an open air theatre. 

The Amaradeva Sangeetha Asapuwa is being constructed with the aim of preserving the works of the Music Maestro for the benefit of future generations. 

Professor Sunil Ariyaratne, Secretary to the Government Media Ministry Sunil Samaraweera, Wimala Amaradeva and several others accompanied the President.
