Easter Sunday attacks: Two prominent terrorists overseas! Featured

Two prominent members of the extremist group responsible for carrying out the Easter Sunday suicide attacks on April 21, are currently overseas and measures are being taken at diplomatic level to have them arrested and deported to Sri Lanka, a senior military official told Sri Lanka Mirror.

He further stated that the entire terror network has now been identified by the security forces and almost all its prominent members have been arrested.

In relation to the bombing, so far 73 persons have been arrested and among them are 09 females.

Of those arrested, 54 are under the custody of the CID, while 19 of them are in the custody of the TID for further interrogation, according to Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara.

Assets of terrorists worth 7 billion identified:

Meanwhile, over 140 million cash owned by the terrorist group responsible for the suicide bomb attacks on Easter Sunday has been identified during investigations, said Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara.

He said part of the cash has been seized by the CID and the rest of the amount is currently in multiple savings accounts owned by the terrorists.

The CID had identified other assets belonging to the terrorists worth over Rs 7 billion and measures are being taken to freeze these assets.
