Zakir Naik's Peace TV banned

Peace TV, owned by an Islamic preacher, Sakir Naik, has been banned by two major cable operators in Sri Lanka following the explosion of the Easter Sunday.

It is said that this channel has been banned by India and Bangladesh as well.

The reason for the ban is that the young people are being persuaded to be ISIS supporters by the programs telecast by the TV channel.

However, an official announcement has not yet been made.

The Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested an individual in Kerala on suspicion of having links with ISIS on Monday.

Investigations have revealed that the arrest man from Kerala and Saharan Hashim, the main suspect in the blast series in Sri Lanka has listened to preaching of Naik.

Indian authorities have been conducting investigations on Naik since 2016 onwards.

He is currently living in Malaysia to avoid being arrested by the Indian authorities.
