Paid lave requested due to terror attacks

The Sri Lanka Mercantile Union has requested from President Maithripala Sirisena to provide paid leave to government and the private sector employees who were unable to report their duties due to the insecurity in the country.

Sylvester Jayakody, the General Secretary of the Union says limited number of employees had reported to the work as a result of this tragic disaster. He added that people were subjected to extreme shock, transport inconveniences. Even employees who reported to the work had to leave the work place early due to the curfew and bad security situation.

Union General Secretary also requests to take this decision with the powers vested in him as the President.
