Teachers have not been paid for exam duties - Joseph Stalin

The General Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers’ Union, Joseph Stalin, says that the due payments for examination duties have not been made yet for the teachers who have served in the GCE O / L examination held in December 2018.

He added that failure to pay them for three months is a serious issue, and the payments had been delayed due to the inadequacy of money released from the Treasury.

Stalin highlighted that three national exams are conducted annually and the allocation of funds in this regard is a normal process, but the absence of such a payment allowance, it is clear that there is no proper program for this.

He said that the non-payment of the allowance is a big issue, when even the allowances being paid does not consummate to work the teachers perform.

He also said that it is a duty of the Commissioner General of Examinations to make the payments without delay.
