3kg claymore found in a drain

Mannar Police say that a claymore mine weighing nearly three kilograms believed to have been used by the LTTE during the war has been found near the Periyakadai mosque in Mannar yesterday (06).

The bomb has been found by cleaning employees who had been cleaning a drain in front of the mosque.

The police said that a claymore mine had been used by the LTTE cadres to attack the army troopes during the war time.

The police said that the Mannar magistrate’s court has been informed about the claymore and measures have been taken to dispose it on a court order.

Mannar police are conducting further investigations.
