“The flower bud party has not fallen because the people of this country love Mahinda Rajapaksa. I am a very straightforward man and I say what I want to say straight to the face. I tell Sirisena and Mahinda what I have to say directly to them. Now the government would hold the presidential elections first and don’t expect them to hold the Provincial Council elections first.
This government is scared to hold the Provincial Council elections first as they fear losing. The government cannot raise its head again and therefore they will not hold the Provincial Council elections. They will not give the 2/3rd majority to hold the Provincial Council elections.
The act that has been passed cannot be abolished without the 2/3rd majority. It is the presidential elections that is due on the stipulated date. Hence the presidential election would be announced on October 8th,” he said.
