SLFP ministers ready to take decision! Featured

PriyankaraJ 600px 16 12 30After resigning from his state minister position, Priyankara Jayaratne says the SLFP ministers who spoke to him have stressed the need to take a timely decision with regard to the government.

Jayaratne has told Neth News that his hope was to form a SLFP government soon.

Mahinda Amaraweera, Anura Priyadarshana Yapa and Dayasiri Jayasekara questioned him as to why he took a hasty decision, and said they should have taken a common decision, he said.

According to Jayaratne, he has no intention of joining the joint opposition.

He said his resignation after a lengthy deliberation with MPs and his supporters who were critical of the bond fraud, handover of land to China and the super minister act, had nothing to do with activities of his ministry.

Meanwhile, JO’s Dullas Alahapperuma wants the SLFP to leave the government and join the JO.

The UNP, that won a majority of seats at the general election, should be allowed to govern, while the SLFP takes up the role of a strong opposition, he says.

That is the step to unite the now divided SLFP, he says.
