Bhakthi reveals reason for Rivira closure (Video) Featured

The Rivira newspaper was forced to be closed due to interventions of its previous administration, former news editor of the publication - Bhakthi Dharmapriya said.

Speaking to 'Sri Lanka Mirror' he was responding to claims raised by Dumeera Dharmawardena, a former director of Rivira Media Consultants.

He had blamed Mr. Dharmapriya and provincial councillor - Priyanka Jayasekera for the newspaper's closure.

Mr. Dharmapriya further said :

Meanwhile, the plan to recruit former chief editor of 'Rivira' - Ramesh Warallegama as the Editor of the 'Aruna' daily publication, has been halted, reports say.

Although the recruitment was initially underway on a request made by Mr. Ramesh himself, another candidate has now been tipped for the post, internal sources from the 'Aruna' newspaper say.
